SIMON WESTON OBE TO ATTEND ROYAL AIR FORCE IN CONCERT

Falklands War Veteran Simon Weston, Vice President of The Royal Star & Garter Home, will be attending The Central Band of the Royal Air Force in Concert. The event is set to take place on Friday 22nd September 2006 at 7.30pm in Fernham Hall, Fareham, in aid of The Royal Star & Garter Home. The Mayor and Mayoress of Fareham, Brian and Pamela Bryant will be present.

Simon Weston, who was severely injured during the Falklands conflict, has been Vice President of the famous ex-Service Charity for many years and works tirelessly to support its fundraising activities.

Music has been a part of the Royal Air Force since 1912 and they have several notable achievements in history including radio coverage and a recordings release through HMV. The band will play a fine amalgam of military, 1940s, swing and light classical music to help support the disabled ex-Service men and women residents who live there.

For tickets, please call the box office on 01329 231942. Tickets are available at £10.

About the Royal Star & Garter Charity

The Royal Star & Garter Home, an independent registered charity based in Richmond, has been caring for disabled ex-Service personnel since 1916. The Charity offers the best in nursing and residential care plus a range of therapies. There are also a wide variety of leisure activities available for our residents to enjoy, both inside and outside the Home. In future years, The Royal Star & Garter Charity intends to build new homes, in the Richmond area and elsewhere, in which to provide specialist care for the elderly disabled, and for those with dementia for whom there is very little provision at present.
